Baseball also wasn’t meant to be played with “the three true outcomes”, ridiculous shifts with rovers in the outfield like it’s beer league softball and a million pitching changes because analytics says you need to matchup with every hitter. The way the game is played now in addition to the players taking forever with constant glove adjusting and practice swings if forcing MLBs hand because of all the dead time. It’s not the time of the game, it’s the pace.

Exactly. It doesn’t matter if the game is 3 hours or 3:15, what matters is all the downtime between pitches.
If they want to shorten games, the only thing that’d really make a difference is lessen the time between innings. Of course that can’t happen.
