A pitch clock, enforcing the stay in the box rule and limiting mound visits which they've already done should have an impact on pace of play and typically speed up an inning.


The only other thing that can be done is limiting mid inning pitching changes. A RHP starts an inning for 1 out, a LHP is brought into to fade 1 left handed hitter and then another RHP is brought in. That would certainly speed things up but I dont know that I'm in favor of something that limits in game strategy like that.

That's the rub. Games are taking forever due to all the pitching changes and bullpen specialization. They'll either have to radically change the rules or accept longer games. There's no easy answer.
