Has anyone tried an external antenna on the Nighthawk to get a better signal?
I'm assuming you're needing an antenna to pull in a better signal from the AT&T towers into your Nighthawk? If that's what you're referring to, nope haven't tried it as I don't need it. I consistently get 2-4 bars reception on my Nighthawk and that's perfectly acceptable for good enough reception stability.
If you are needing something to broadcast a signal within your house, I'd recommend a mesh system or some type of a good broadcast router.
The Nighthawk's broadcast strength sucks. That's why I just use it to catch the AT&T cell tower signal and hardwire it into my whole home mesh router system.

This is strictly for what you describe - to pull in a better, stronger signal from the ATT towers. I hooked it up yesterday and am pleased with the results so far. As previously mentioned, I was getting 2-3 bars reception before. This is still true but my ping dropped from 50-60 on average to below 50 with an average of 47 on speedtests. My d/l speed went up from an average of 30 mbps to 40. I did my tests with the antenna, then without, then with it again to confirm my average ping and d/l speeds. I still need to experiment with it more but even the small boost I'm seeing is worth it.

ok... i did everything and:
1)the nighthawk device says "Mobile Broadband Disconnected"
2)the attwifimanager site doesnt open or seem to exist and
3) my credit card company sent me a fraud alert confirming that i was using my card for this...
