Pat Screen, he had the whole package but got hurt early in the 1963 season when I became an authentic Tiger supporter. Then later in that season, and in much of 1964 as well, Billy Ezell, who was TERRIBLE! Occasionally he would connect with receivers for brilliant TD passes, like vs Ole Miss to Billy Masters, the tight end (also in the Bama game the next week), and to Doug Moreau in the Sugar Bowl vs Syracuse, but more often than not he stunk up the field, and a game performance of 1 completion in 12 attempts, with 2 interceptions, occurred more than once in his tenure.
Pat Screen, on the other hand, was AMAZING, both passing and running, in limited action, in 1963, 1964 and 1965.

My first semester at LSU was the Spring '63. I can relate to everything you are saying but wasn't Nelson Stokely sandwiched between Screen and Ezell?
