Like last year when he signed 7 defensive linemen including 5 defensive tackles. If that's a swing and a miss, I'll take it.

DT's:
Chasen Hines
Davin Cotton
Dare Rosenthal
Nelson Jenkins
Dominic Livingston

I love how some people keep posting this list like two of these players aren't currently playing offense.

Sure man, sure.

Just pointing out that everyone knows you are an alter. Just don't let your guard down and prove it to them like you have done in the past.

Remember, you have only been a member for 3 months. May help to say that to yourself a couple times every time you are going to make a post.

Your welcome !!!

Playing in & winning a NY6 bowl & finishing 6th in the nation has been quite a rebuild from where Miles left the program. But I don’t see anyone implying that this program is being rebuilt

We've lost 7 games over the past 2 seasons?

Can't help the NCAA has progressively gotten worse and LSU benefits from that in rankings.

I am sure Miles could do as well, if not better than 7 losses in the past two seasons.. especially with how atrocious the SEC west is outside of Alabama.

Miles is better against Florida and Miles doesn't lose to a&m.. Right? Arkansas is now trash so even that is likely an easy W for him. He did have his struggles consistently beating them, but they fell off a cliff. Ole Miss also fell off a cliff.

I am not ready to fully feel one way or the other about O.. but to me, this is the year to fully judge him. If he can't compete for playoffs this season then he is never going to. LSU should not have more than 2 losses this season.

So there is no way that I could have been just reading the forum before? That’s beyond possible?

Is it beyond possible that I’m not an alter at all but maybe a friend of someone else who posts here and that this friend is filling me in on information regarding the board?

Again, you are projecting on me what is true about you/Ree/Roger.

It’s so obvious that those three accounts are from the same person. They have the same tendencies in their wording.

You mean Ree? The guy that (according to another thread) never posted anything for years after joining but all of a suddden the moment Orgeron was hired became one of the most active accounts on the forum? Yeah, nothing suspicious about that. Lol

Pffffffft we were preseason 13 in 2017 and all we have to do is not lose to Troy and we’re in a NY6 bowl.

If we beat Notre Dame we’re probably 11

This isn’t a rebuild. Never was.

It’s O getting his act together.

Realistically you can’t tell me O didn’t do a better job just coaching this year than last year.

I understand you are a big O guy and you think ten wins is a big achievement for LSU, but its not. 5-3 in the SEC is no better than what we had in 2015. Two of our defeats came at the hands of programs who had to fire their coaches one year ago for under achieving. Our third defeat, 29-0, made O 0-3 against the guy he was hired to make us better than.

LSU is 0-3 against Alabama with scores totalling 63-10. We are 0-2 against new to their team coaches that the majority of the rant and college football felt we were more talented than.

It was a nice year the same as many other years since Saban came and Les followed. I don't want O fired for a ten win season. I want to win the west and beat Alabama. If O cant do that, then bring on the next guy.

Do you not think it's just as suspicious that you seem to know the history of the board and personalities of the posters on the board but only started an account in October?

Just saying, you appear to be every bit the alter Ree is, probably more so actually.

No, it's not impossible you had just been lurking for 10 years without a user name. It's just not very likely. It's even less likely you had friends give you a history lesson on all of the users on tigerdroppings unless you and your friends are especially weird.

He claims that I personally attack people on the board everyday but I don't even come close to that. In fact I've calmed down quite a bit lately.

If you want to compare talent by using recruiting rankings then look at the guys that play and that's it.

Don't look at recruiting rankings by themselves.

That’s the whole point.. they aren’t looking at recruiting rankings by themselves.

S&P+ has three main pieces to their preseason rankings. All of these are intended to, as you said, “look at the players that play”.

The combination of the “recent history” and “returning production” parts indicates how successful next year’s returning starters will be.

The “recruiting” part indicates how successful next year’s new starters will be. That’s why it’s weighted towards recent recruits - highly rated players who were recruited 3-4 signing classes ago are more likely to already be included in the “recent history” and “returning production” parts of the formula.

In fact, the entire point of the article is that they just changed the way the S&P+ “recruiting” part of the ranking works. Previously, the only used two years worth of recruiting data and they didn’t include upperclassmen at all.

Yet there are still folks in this thread acting like the original article is actually a 4-year average recruiting ranking. It’s not, it’s actually a “projected new production for 2019” ranking. The OP (really SBNation) just posted a misleading title.

When was the last time we beat a team we weren’t supposed to when Miles was coach?Miles was Larry Cokering LSU.Having said that 2019 should be 11-1 at worst with a win over Bama.No excuses.

Team rankings do not tell the whole picture. If you load up on skill position players 4 and 5 star but get few 4 star lineman you are going to struggle. Don't know the solution but just looking at rankings is misleading to a point.

Need a formula that gives weight to having covered your needs at each position. Bama's weakness on D has always been at DB. However, it only hurts them when you have a great QB.

Ranking says nothing about meeting team needs. Even on todays front page you see people talking about the skill players we signed in this class not living up to potential unless we shore up the offensive line. Rankings also don't take into account the players that leave the program. We had several highly ranked receivers transfer out just a couple of years ago. In O's first year we had several offensive linemen transfer or leave early. Ranking are a good metric but you need a good balance also.

I agree somewhat but if LSU is the only program out of the top 5 not to make the playoffs then the coaching staff isn’t developing players.
