I completely get calling one a "negatiger" when they make blanket statements like "we suck," "fire Will Wade," etc. but when we're playing poorly at a given point in the game, it shouldn't come as a shock that people comment on it to the effect of "we look like shite (right now)," "we're going to lose if we keep playing like this," etc.

I don't know why such observations are constantly condemned, just like I don't know why people have to shite on a tough road win after the fact by saying we're not good.
