The Sophsers actually may have believed they were. But Bama closed we did not. We don't know if we were played if they actually did have second thoughts but did not act on them in the end.

Actually, I think the staff probably did all they could. You can't FORCE someone to go somewhere the don't want or have to go. That's understandable. What's not is not making contingency plans in the event plan A doesn't work out (Not that LSU didn't do that here. But when your HC says it's imperative to get better DL players...and then fails to do so to any significant degree, people justifiably question your ability)

Wrong. Bought and sold deals can be reneged. But keep being ignorant on how the world really works. LSU's timing was off and pulled the final wildcard too late. Should have been pulled months ago.

How you know they haven't? Maybe they are already vetting DL in the transfer portal? Did you know much about Alexander or Burrow January of last year?

And the Sophsers basically turned down a deal that would have been better for them in the long run for Petitto. I don't understand how folks can easily sell their souls like this where it benefits others more so than their own selves. They know LSU can get Ish to the NFL as well as Bama. It is not like the choice was Tech or La la U vs them. So all equal they sold out for their own disadvantage after consideration. Wow.

I’ve asked this question before. My responses were:
“Coach better”
“Recruit harder”
And no response.
If a kid is telling you he’s coming and you stop recruiting them, then it’s a two edge sword.
