If the first ten pages were crap, then #11 is a dingleberry.

Thanks for the support Hubb, but 44 is more likely to be the over/under for this game than points scored by LSU.

If 44 is the spread, every cent I own and every penny I can borrow will be wagered on this game. I am not a financial advisor, I know a few, but if I were you, and the spread was 44, you better do the same. No way will LSU win by 44 or more points........

On a side note, I love the fact that on this message board, there are two very distinct ends of the football fan spectrum, those who know what they are talking about and respect other fans and teams, and then those who appear to have no formal education or knowledge on what they speak of.

I completely agree. Midway through the 3rd period we pull our starters and you get a couple of gimmee touchdowns. LSU by 30.

30 may be more realistic, but sill on the high side. I bet the line is closer to the 17-19 range. With a new QB, and a new secondary, vegas odds aren't going to give you 30......24 at the most.

Then its clear which category you fall into seeing as how you don't know what an OVER/UNDER is moron. Either that or you just can't read. I didn't say LSU would win by 44, I was actually saying LSU would not come close to scoring 44 points. And for the record, if you bother to read the posts, I am one of about 3 or 4 people giving ASU praise and credit and saying it is going to be a hard fought game.

If Vegas gives you 24 points there's going to be a ton of Tiger fans taking that. That being said it looks like App. State is coming to play and it should be fun. Keep hanging around.

We will still be here for a bit ...I just wish the game were a little closer on the calendar.. I need to get on the plane ticket hunt I guess...I have a room booked but have been dragging my feet on the flight...Given fuel prices, just another brilliant financial move on my part...heh, heh

Look, you ASU fans seem like nice people, but you need to face some realities of LSU/SEC football:
quote:

compare our performance against Michigan.

Yeah, you beat Meeeechegan when they completely overlooked you at their place. So what? Did you see what a healthy LSU team did to tOSU?There's NO chance LSU overlooks ASU in '08--it's the opening game.
quote:

First we only lost one O-lineman this year, Kerry Brown. This gives us a veteran line that is familiar with a defense that is larger and supposedly better.

Supposedly better? You can't seriously say you are unclear as to which D-line is better, LSU or Meeechegan?
quote:

Third, in Ann Arbor the ASU O-line only allowed one sack for a loss of 10 yards. ASU's D got 4 sacks on Chad Henne for a total loss of only 16.

Refer to comment above about the LSU D-line. As for O-line, 4 returning starters from a MNC team speaks to the advantage LSU will have. Again, review tOSU game for reference.
quote:

And Lastly, while Michigan did rack up 479 total yards Appalachian gained 387 with 160 yards rushing and 227 yards passing.

If your defense isn't better than last year, the Tiger offense may put up 600+ total yards. I'll be surprised if your offense goes for more than 300 yds. total.
quote:

So one can see that if you put too much effort in to planning for killing our QB then a team can get burnt in the air or by our running back.

I expect a TEAM effort by the Tiger D--lots of swarming to the ball, an occasional safety missle blitz on 3rd & long situations, and general havoc wreaking.
quote:

Now your D is big and somewhat fast but our size isn't that much smaller.

Plus speed kills!!!

ASU fans talking about speed with LSU fans is truly comical. You won't appreciate the speed of SEC football on both sides until after 8/30. Just promise to come back and say we told you so.

And, don't just take our word for it, go to an unbiased source like CollegeFootballNews.com and see what those guys think about the Tigers, even without RP--their '08 analysis was just posted this week.

FYI, a lot of these same comments were made by VaTech fans before their destruction in Tiger Stadium last year.

We saw your speed in 2005.
It was nice BUT not overwelming ?
LSU maybe better, APP is definitely better.

Result in 2008 = Good Game LSU wins by ? under 20?

Edit to hearts content.

I don't think ASU will get many shots on offense to do much. I expect LSU to come out out and just pound ASU's offense relentlessly and eat up a ton clock. I expect the time of possession to favor LSU by about 3 or 4 to 1.
