I literally just provided you with 5 examples just in the SEC the last 4-5 years. Yes, it has become standard practice. You may not agree with the practice and I don't like it either, but it has absolutely become the norm

what you literally did is show me five schools that made decisions that have no bearing on LSU. there is no "industry standard" here. there is no protocol. each of those situations is unique to the school and the coach and the resources available.

year in year out people joke about Kirk Ferentz's job security. Iowa has probably given Ferentz 5 different extensions over the last 15 years. does that mean that Iowa was ahead of the curve as far as setting this protocol in FBS?

if we were concerned with following "industry standard" or "protocol" LSU would have not hired a guy who was on the coaching staff of the man they fired if they wanted a "fresh start".
