Did they?

Very few teams in the nation compare with the talent LSU had on Defense.

LSU on offense returned three players who had started previously. I doubt many teams didn't have as much or more talent offensively.

Won't be the case this year on offense since LSU will return all but three starters - who were seniors.

More often to talent than Florida? Yes. Mullen took team that went 4 and 7 the previous year and turned it into a top-10 team(all while beating LSU again). He took Franks, who looked like he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and turned him into a better quarterback statistically than Joe Burrow, who by the way went half the regular season without a passing touchdown.

What I'm getting at is that you must be able to develop a quarterback to have a competent offense and win. Jimbo and Mullen have clearly proven they can develop quarterbacks. Frank's look like a completely different person. Mond was clearly much better. On the flip side we all know Coach O has absolutely nothing to do with the quarterback position, and do you really believe our answer for developing quarterbacks was sitting as the tight end coach for years under Miles? I don't, and this will be the third year where Coach O doesn't hire quarterbacks coach.

ETA: and just to point it out you can't say muh Tom Herman like you love to. He beat the shite out of Georgia, beat Oklahoma in the regular season, and won the Sugar Bowl.
