I'll be truck shopping once the government and Ram settle the emissions thing with my Ecodiesel. Anyway, I've never had leather seats and other upgrades in a truck. I've always had mid-level with cloth seats and what not. Those that hunt and fish, does the leather hold up over time? Anything you wish you had or didn't have?

I always got middle of the road cloth seats with power locks on my trucks until my last one and I won’t be going back to cloth seats.

Now all my trucks will have leather, backup camera, led bed lighting, heated and AC seats. I’ve never had a problem with messing up my leather but if I’m super wet I’ll just sit on a towel.

Leather is a must. Heated seats and steering wheel is better than I thought. Cooled seats don't do much for me. Next one will have push button start.

So you have an Ecodiesel and are wanting to get rid of it? If so why?

The reason I ask is I bought the Ford 3.0

The leather in my 2011 tundra has held up great. Getting in and out muddy will get mud on seats occasionally and they clean up easily.
One thing that is pretty much a must from any truck I own here on out is a back up camera. Even though I can hook up a trailer without one, they make things so much easier when it comes to stopping in just the right spot to drop the tongue on the ball.

I bought a 2017 f150 xlt that had cloth seats. I wanted leather but didn’t want to go up to a lariat package, so I had leather installed by CSC in Baton Rouge for $1000. Imo leather is a must, but you don’t have to buy a truck with it to have it.

Leather holds up better than vinyl or cloth generally, especially if you take care of it.

The government. There will be a recall for a software fix for the emissions. I will also be receiving a $3000 check. Once all that happens I'm trading it in although my truck has been flawless with 76k miles.

Go with a Sierra z71 SLT, Silverado z71 LT, F-150 FX4 or Tundra.

The first three I know have climate controlled seats for heat or cool air depending on the time of the year

Wasnt aware of that. Idle emissions I'm assuming?

My truck has vinyl seats and I think I'd like to get factory leather ones put in. Anybody done that?

CSC customs did my leather it’s not from the factory but I have had multiple people comment how nice it is. I’ll try to post pictures of it today.

Leather is definitely worth the money IMHO. Get a good leather conditioner and wipe it down good every couple of months. It'll last a lot longer than cloth.

I've been looking at upgrading from a tacoma to a used 1500 Ram Outdoorsman or Sport.

I think they use roadwire. This is right after I had it done. Still looks awesome 20,000 miles later.

The US government hates everything diesel. They said FCA lied or cheated about the emissions. They're supposed to agree on a settlement this week.
