Or we could give a tax break for R&D (or find another means of stimulating innovation) AND take money off the sidelines from billionaires to pay for infrastructure, education, and the godforsaken wall (I guess).

For the record, I make good money and I feel that I should pay a higher rate than people who make $50k a year because I already have everything I want and need. And trust me, people making $10 million a year don't care about the money. It's just the measuring stick for success. Money for the ultra rich is about ego, not about what it can buy.
