So beating Miami, GA, Auburn didn’t show you anything. But beating UCF does?

I mean neither AU or Miami would be favored against UCF right now. UCF would be LSU’s second best win outside of UGA. Those wins felt good at the time but they haven’t held up as amazing wins.

I am following your logic now. Not sure I totally agree, but certainly a good debate.

After the bowl, we will see.

Happy New Year.

“ I do not think this is a fair assessment”

It’s certainly an accurate assessment as of this time. Coach O has been making gametime decisions for LSU for like 33 football games covering parts of 3 yrs. we have had disappointing L’s to teams we should have beaten in each of those 3 years.

“ 10 points away from being 11-1”

LSU fired a coach 4 games into the season who was less than 10 points away from being 4-0.

“ Great things are certain to come”

While we all hope that’s true, LSU football recruiting has been in the top five a number of times between 2013 and today without that translating into “great things” yet.

How about we stop talking about it and just do it.

Make an offer to UCF to join the SEC. Plan on putting them in the West. Then let's see how quick they crawfish back out of any deal to join. No way in Hell do they want any part of the SEC on a weekly basis.

They would jump in a heartbeat. They are already better than Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandererbilt, Tennessee, Missouri and possibly South Carolina. They are already in a talent-rich state. Being 20 minutes from Walt Disney World and playing in the SEC would do wonders for their recruiting. Hell, they would join just to get their hands on the annual $40 million TV contract and bowl money revenue distribution.

Everyone knows that LSU will be the much better team, regardless of what happens. This is a consolation game, you will not be able to glean anything about either team from this game.

Not even who is ready to play and who isn’t?

8 is too many, go to the NFL 6 team format. 5 major conference winners and a wildcard for group of 5 teams 1 loss top 5 teams and independents.

This game could decide the future of the playoff.
If LSU wins, that's what was expected, and the committee was justified in leaving them out.

But if they win... The 8 team playoff talk will only grow louder.

And I for one think 8 is too much.

Don't mean to burst your bubble but the "non-power 5" schools are not at all even remotely close to who is and will drive us towards an 8 team playoff. No one cares about a barely for profit football program who goes on a two year win streak. Nope, the only thing that will cause the playoff system to change is leaving out power 5 conferences.

In all fairness, LSU was 10-2 this year, because they were blatantly cheated out of the A&M game. They have a chance to deserve an 11-2 record to finish the season.

Our best player isn’t even playing. You know, the guy who was 6th in the Heisman? This game isn’t a super bowl it’s a big let down.

Nah the thing that makes the 8 team playoff possible is leaving out the Big 10 champ 2 years in a row. Also the other power 5 conferences not having a team in the playoff.

Yeah I think Notre Dame getting in and 2 P5 conferences being left out has to have gotten some wheels turning

I think there should be an expansion, TO THE NEXT POWER OF2, 2x2x2 with 1-8 seeds. The matches should give the next group of 4 the opportunity, but nothing that will diminish the true strength of the teams.

If this serves to include more conferences and at-larges, like UCF, then so be it.

So a game going to the precipice of the impossible, like our game with aTm, might be just what the doctor ordered.

I do know this, THERE IS MUCH INTEREST IN THE GAME AND THAT IS WHY I WILL BE IN GLENDALE AZ, on Jan. 1, 2019.

This game might get more views than any other bowl on January 1 of 2019. Amen
