Tilman thinks he can make them into something by throwing his money around but they are 2nd tier at best.

It should be. Their performance yesterday was pathetic and he hasn't really handled the HC job all that well. He punted from the Army 30 when down 42 points. GTFO w/that bullshite.

Well he is missing his stud QB... that’s when the season went down hill. The AD did say 8-5 seasons would get a coach fired, so watch out major.

Lost 4 of his last 5. King didn’t go out til game 11.

Houston gave up 63 to 5-win Texas Tech, 59 to Temple, and 70 to Army.

Applewhite was never embraced by fan base. Exactly no other program wants him.

Major Applewhite’s future in doubt at UH by DBG
He has a standing offer from Pete Boudreaux at CHS for a position as co qb coach - he might have to take a slight pay cut.

His record at Houston is 15-11.

2016

2017

2018

He also just got the worst vote of confidence I've ever heard.

UPDATE: Following the initial publication of this story, the University of Houston issued a statement Saturday night: “Within the last several weeks, we have shown our commitment to our football program under Major with salary increases to specific positions in an attempt to retain his staff for the future,” A.D. Chris Pezman said.

Applewhite is a very overrated coach not sure the hype around him. It wasn’t his offense when Hernan as at UH. He sucked at UT as well when he was OC.

Who is he rated highly by?
Houston can do much better. I was surprised when he got that job.

I never understood the hire, considering Kiffin and Miles both wanted the job.

Coug High has an arrogant strain that tends to cloud judgment.

Ever since Cougar High started getting Fertita's money, yes.

He's basically trying to do to UH what T Boone tried to do to Oklahoma State. T Boone's money couldn't move OSU from 2nd to first in that state for any sustained amount of time, and Fertita's money won't move UH to a much higher level, either.

What has Applewhite ever done? He played in the Big12 which is a second rate conference, Saban knew how bad he was and got rid of him real fast. Overrated and has never proven himself.

Not a pipe dream. Holgorsen has connections to UH and he's gonna get paid. If UH was gonna match UT's $5mil offer to Judas then they'll certainly match whatever WVU throws at Dana. They've gone from a relevant top 25 program under Turdman to nothing in only 2 years. If the administration ever wants to fill the stadium up again firing Opie is really the only move they can make.
