Um, because they are possessing a stolen firearm and the evidence suggests that they knew or should have known it was stolen.

That's a dumb pretense. Essentially, you'd have to be caught in the act of said theft. Otherwise, just deny knowledge of it and you'd be ok.

Did the victim pull a gun on ceh? Would be important to the case for CEH to feel his life was in danger

Yes. That’s the story.

He pulled it on his friend, LSU player, Jared Small.

You clearly don’t know anything about criminal law.

Lol. I'm not going to go into my own past, but I can tell you I've got all the "reality" boxes checked in this situation. Been there, done that, got the t shirt.

If I did shoot the robber, I wouldn't tap them when they were down, I'd give first aid. (In the U.S.)

All I'm saying, is that theres something else to this story. I'm sure we will find that out in the coming week.

You must be some sprt of operator or something.

Didn’t say that, only that a young man who was carrying a gun selling a console in a part of town that was dangerous and had to use is a scary for all of us parents
Of teenagers or college age kids . I know I don’t want
My son to think he needs to be packing.

I keep seeing this in the comments,

But no article mentions a Craigslist deal, or a weapon drawn on the LSU players... where are people reading that

How do you know the gun was sketchy? If he’s 18 he can own it legally in most states.

Two LSU athletes were detained for questioning after one person was found fatally shot in the back seat of a truck Saturday afternoon.

Police have released the student-athletes, who were in the front seat of the truck, without charges. Sources have confirmed to WAFB that one of the athletes is sophomore running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Sure.

Man has gun stolen out of truck and reports it stolen. The gun is recovered in a drug bust a week later. Upon questioning, the possession of said gun says he bought it from a guy in the neighborhood.

Guy in the neighborhood who sold gun to possessor has a long rap sheet and no legitimate income. Upon investigation, he has other items stolen from the truck.

Just that is enough to charge and probably enough to get a conviction against possessor for possession of a stolen firearm.

Two points:

(1) Typically, you aren’t dealing with MENSA members in these situations and

(2) People who conduct legitimate firearm transactions back themselves with paperwork and other sworn instruments.

Just curious... if you buy a stolen gun are you accountable for not verifying first?

What I mean is, even if it was stolen, hard thing to prove he knew
