I disagree. I think he's our next QB.

Just my opinion but I don’t think he’s that good. He played against weak competition in high school and his offer sheet really wasn’t that great. Like I said it’s just my opinion.

I didn't keep up with him in high school but I thought he broke all sorts of records or am I thinking of a different kid?

Is Parrish that good that he could overtake Brennan? Genuine question btw. I typically don't follow LSU QBs when they're in HS anymore because I've been burned every time I get my hopes up about one

So given the fact that the coaches were fastidious to preserve Brennan’s redshirt and that Orgeron has only always spoken highly of his ability, you infer that...his window is closing? This is what coaches WANT for a backup. A guy who can develop, learn the system, get increasing game time experience. He’s on the track set for him that will give him the opportunity to effectively take the reins in 2020.

So kids don't improve from year to year in college football?

Unfortunately LSU has had a long history of not developing QBs - post Jimbo OC era. So I would guess any development you see from the new QBs would be minimal or along the same lines you have seen in the past. I hope I am wrong though.

The same “weak” competition Brett Favre played against? Also, the guy who broke all Favre’s high school records? Right, gotcha.

high school? Every guy on our roster was a stud in high school.

But it all resets once they get on campus. High school stats mean nothing.

I don't think Brennan will be a full time starter at LSU.

Burrow obviously is the football coach's guy. Then Parrish will be his next guy.

Brennan was inherited. Remember we almost lost him in 2016 when the football coach offered Tua.

I was referring to the so-called weak competition argument. Favre and Brennan played the same competition and Brennan beat Favre’s records. To say Brennan’s stats aren’t an indicator of his ability because of “weak competition” is a fallacious argument.

I agree wih Grandad. Of course, I too am a grandad. I think that a well run program should be starting three or four year guys at QB, unless an amazing talent comes along.

utter nonsense.

When I was playing high school ball, there was a LA player named Bobby Joe Douglas who averaged 54 points per game in high school.

He went to ULM and averaged 7.5 for his career there.

ALL stats must be considered in context.

He is up a few pounds since high school. Does he have a tapeworm, or are the nutritionists and strength coaches ignoring him? What gives?

Do you do anything else besides calling people idiots that you disagree with?

Of course he can improve. Look at all the qb's in the pros who were mediocre in college. If you think one cannot improve on something one focuses on you will have difficulty succeeding in life.

What exactly do I disagree with in this particular thread?
Sorry me stating the obvious upsets you so.

With that said, GFY.

Not taking up for the kid but you might want to check that offer list and compare his 18 offers to Parrish's 17 offers. Very similar list...

We got 3 dudes coming in in the next few years that already solidly built for the college game. Myles still struggling to finish some white beans.

I wouldn't be shocked if he took over next season but I'm one of those that thinks burrow isn't a very good passer so what do I know...

Your Response to the above quote

Why?

I have no crystal ball but if Brennan was that good he would have beaten out Burrow this year. Burrow is good but not elite. Brennan may end up good but not elite.

I love his arm but I loved Brandon Harris arm also

Put up good stats in high school but so have thousands of others.

Two years removed from High School either you have it or not and if Brennan does not start at LSU next year, his 3rd year then answer the question is he that good?

Do y'all not understand that our QB problem is rooted in ZERO development? Why would you want a true freshman over Brennan whose been groomed for 2 years? We have to break the chains at some point.
