Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
Sports Night

Both were SO MUCH better than The Newsroom to me, but Sorkin was too tied up with West Wing to continue either show.

we all have shows that ran for maybe two seasons on fox, or tnt, or hbo, etc 10 years ago. let us fire up the nostalgia in this thread and see if anyone actually watched some of these shows as well

Firefly (though I didn't watch it until later) Freaks and Geeks Sportsnight (rewatched that a couple years back and it is still great) Harper's Island (shite show but I loved it) Jericho (awesome show but I loved it, ha) Terra Nova Kid Nation (RIP, sweet prince)

This is almost exactly what my list would have been.

One of the best first episodes I've seen of TV.

Wayward pines had a great first season, not so great 2nd

Read the three-book series this was based on in a weekend. Really enjoyed that story.

And Carla Gugino is still a hottie.

The Riches with Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver was a show that I thought had potential. The writers strike doomed it to never return.

Step by Step

What a cute cool show. Completely forgot about that one.

Taboo 2017. Trippy and cool. Apparently S2 is or will be in production this year, finally.

Homefront, from ABC during the 1990s. It was about soldiers returning from WW2 and their families reactions. Kyle Chandler (later Fri Nite Lites), Mimi Kennedy, John Slattery (later "Mad Men"

And apparently step by step aired all the way to 1998. Thought it ended like 1994.

Anybody remember The Unit? I thought it was kind of underrated.

I'm sure it has been mentioned somewhere along the way in this thread, but "Boston Public" always gets my vote in these types of discussions.

also, not really a forgotten show per se, since it's still fairly recent, but one that ended and then just sort of blended into the background of old shows was "Bates Motel". i thought that show was PHENOMENAL.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
This was fantastic, and I wish so much that it could have synched up more with the streaming era (although I also don't want to age the actors any)

Highlander (series) was great too. Honestly prefer Duncan over Conner. The seasons living on the barge in Paris were the best.

I remember an old series, Project Bluebook, that was kinda a precursor to The X-Files. A pair of USAF officers investigating UFO sightings. I seem to recall a remake, but it quickly went off the rails... the original stayed a lot more grounded, with the occasional 'but what about this?' tossed in from time to time.

Black Sheep Squadron (Baa Baa Black Sheep) was awesome. Robert Conrad and most of the cast of Magnum PI, as a Marine squadron of Corsair fighters in the South Pacific during WW2. Way more combat-oriented and serious than MASH for us war buffs. I still love me some Corsairs.

Soap, perhaps the greatest comedy series ever. That shite was so warped and twisted; who could ever forget the possession of Corrine's baby ?
