Yeah you say that, but I'm talking more about why they start wearing makeup in the beginning, as a young teen. Sure it does make them look better, but I see it as a bunch of school girls picking on the ugly ones since they aren't wearing makeup or got their makeup skills up to code. Also guys won't really give women hell for not wearing makeup like other women will.

Ok gotcha. I think most girls do initially cause they see their moms and sisters and they think it looks pretty; so I Agee with you on that point.

The larger point I was trying to make is its artificial, so regardless of motivation the underlying issue remains the same.

You’re kidding, right? Y’all are constantly talking about how hot, or not, women are and whether or not she’s worthy of your hitting it. And it’s ALL based on looks. Pretty sure you aren’t drooling over the chick with no makeup, slouchy clothes and stringy hair.
