Wow. 17 pages already. I'm impressed. Good job.
Martin Luther miscalculated the ultimate dynamic effect of schismatics. I don't judge him for it. He never claimed to be able to see the future.
In any event, we know that the Prosperity Theologists will support their theology with direct quotes from The Word of God. They will tell you that perspicuity makes it very clear that Prosperity Theology is Biblical. You may disagree with that. They will retort by telling you that you are wrong and that THEIR OWN interpretation is correct. How to resolve the impasse? The traditional way is to: don't join that guy's Church. Go to another Church or form your own Church following your own, or somebody else's, interpretations of what the Bible says.
And as for Jimmy Swaggart, the the Gambling Pastor's Sins? Well, all they have to do for forgiveness is: during private prayer, just ask God for forgiveness, right? The Bible doesn't say it has to be a public thing or something done in front of any Pastor. Poof! They are forgiven.
I think that's how all of this works, but, I invite corrections if you think I got something wrong.
