Simmons books are almost always a bit of a slog but generally worht it. The 3rd and 4th books in teh series are a big let down though. I would definitely take a break. Read something with a nice pace to it, and maybe not 700 pages.
I am reading Ball Lightning by Liu. Its really good, about 60% through. A very slow start tho.

Currently listening to Alec Hutson’s The Raveling series.
The first one, “The Red Queen”, was great and the 2nd one, “The Silver Sorceress”, has been just as good so far.
