I read The Faithful and the Fallen series. Very good. I just start Book One, A Time of Dread, of the Of Blood and Bone trilogy. I'm a little more than 100 pgs in and enjoying it.

Faithful and Fallen is great. What Gwynn does best is character development and battle scenes.

The world building isn’t anything special if that’s what you’re looking for, kind of generic medieval European landscapes.

But his battle scenes are brutally violent, but realistic and not really over the top.

And he makes you really care for or absolutely loathe the characters. To the point that some some deaths are heartbreaking and others just so satisfying
