im halfway through the blade itself and hooked. i find it interesting though they started film adaptation with Best served cold(which iIhavent read yet) rather than the trilogy?

Best Served Cold is a pretty self-contained story and they easily tell it in a single movie. If they had chosen the original trilogy, you would need multiple TV show seasons or a movie trilogy to tell the story. I don't think they would bankroll that much risk (even if the first law trilogy is slightly better than best served cold itself).
