NY’s lieutenant governor at least serves as president of the state senate, essentially a Vice President at the state level. Some research shows me that La’s LT gov’s main job is tourism... wow...

LA state government has a lot of pork barrel for a “red” state.

He is basically the commissioner of tourism, not really a politician even. That's why they don't run for governor.

Texas as well.

The Lt Gov is in charge whenever the Gov is out of state, and if something happened to the governor, he would take over.

But... I do think we could get rid of it, and just assign another person the interim duty.
