We didn’t even offer him until the day before Akers committed to FSU. Clemson had already been on him. Pretty sure he had just come back from a visit there.

The Recruitment of Travis Etienne: How Clemson Almost Let The Superstar Get Away
LINK
He waited 9 months for the chance to go to Clemson, his dream school.
He did not take a visit to LSU and had a ton of offers. He was recruited in 2017 by Canada and Juluke. LSU had too many recruits and Clemson was the National Champion.
His interest was only Clemson. His mother's too.
At 5'11 215 lb and 4.35 he is one of the fastest backs in FBS like Josh Jacobs at ALA.
He had 5000 yds in 2 yrs in HS with 50 TDs. I don't think Les said that about his running, but even if he did, so what he was not here, it was DL O's Staff who missed on him while stacking the "Build A Wall" Defense. In today's FBS world of Champions "Elite Defenses do not stop Elite Offenses"...10-0, 24-10, 29-0. That was a decade ago. Etienne knew that better than anyone.
