Don't worry.,,,there may still be some hope.
After he finishes his commitment to the formalized welfare system know as the U.S. Army, he can join the Marine Corps!
Of course, he will still have to attend recruit training at MCRD, but it will definitely be worth it.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes.
I don't think he is eligible for the USMSC - too high of an ASVAB and doesn't enjoy the taste of crayons. Go back to your hole crayon eater.
15S for now. He is dropping a packet after BCT and AIT for WOCS and then wanting to pilot for SOARs eventually.
I shite you not, when we were in CCS at Pope we had a guy whose buddy sent him a giant black dildo in a care package. It was not a good day for him but then anyone who fricked up the rest of the course had to wear that thing around their neck. I bet that wouldn't fly today.
At basic not much, but he can tear himself up pretty good I saw guys destroy their knees in the obstacle course, one guy committed suicide (not worried about that with my son), but there is also AIT and then the "real" Army. 3 guys just got blown up in the sandbox yesterday. He has 6 years at a minimum to face the BS in every corner. When I was in it was all an adventure but now it is different.

I say this as someone who is very naive, but what exactly are you worried about? I'm genuinely curious.
