How long has LSU been claiming DBU? Where has top flight DBs gotten us? Don’t get me wrong i appreciate guys like Delpit, PP7 and TM7, BUT i fee like interior pass rush and run stopping ability is way more important.

We need to shift the focus away from the defensive backfield and shift it towards the DL. What good does 5 star CBs do if the QB has all day to pick them apart. Even the best corners in the league can only cover for a few seconds before someone is open.

Orgeron is supposed to be a DL guru and its time he starts getting great lineman on our defense. If we had any kind of pass rush we would be 11-1 right now.

Why not both? You don't have to throw out the baby with the bath water.

What the frick are you talking about?

Do you think we’ve ignored pass rush and interior linemen to focus on DBs?

Chablis and Brick took 2 years off recruiting good front 7 players because they’re lazy fricks. Not because they were busy recruiting DBs.

It’s not like we take excessive amounts of DBs a class.

How bout we shift it toward a fricking offense that can crack the top 100 in scoring and passing?

What great DL have we signed recently? Lawrence is the best one other than him we have a bunch of average or out of shape slobs on the DL.. we have guys like Fehoko playing 5 technique, which is why we constantly give up outside containment. We constantly give running lanes. Idk maybe its just Aranda’s scheme but the run defense and pass rush should be better.

If your whole thread was “let’s recruit better DL” I would agree wholeheartedly

But it’s not like we are not taking DL because we care too much about DBs

Our defense should be better with Chaisson returning and the addition of Stingley. Delpit is back. Hopefully Fulton returns. Jacoby Stevens might have found his niche on defense. We still have Phillips, Divinity, and Queen.

I never said we take too many. But it seems like we try to get the best CB every yesr. Just like Smith last year that was the staffs main focus. This year Stingley was the main focus. I feel like we need to be focusing on DL and OL more than anything right now evenQB

We have DL coaches who recruit DL, and our HC is a former DL coach who recruits DL.

We just get top CBS because the coach who recruits DBs is good at his job. It’s not like we spent more resources and time and effort recruiting Stingley than we did Karnell Thomas or Sophser.
