Listening to Ross Dellinger on espn radio makes me sad. He said if we didn’t have that damn state budget problem jimbo would be coaching the tigers.

F*King didn’t like the donors were willing to pay the buyout, yet not donate to the university. So let’s blame a budget crisis.

We also wouldn’t have lost to fricking Wisconsin. frick Les and Brandon Harris for that game

No coach in the country is worth 10-year, $75m.
I don't care what their name is.

It really wasn’t even the budget problem necessarily... it was the governor pressuring Alexander to not pay millions for a new coach while they were going through a state budget crisis... even though LSU sports funds itself and gives back to the school

cant recall exactly but I think he was asking for less in 2015. Granted it was still a lot of dough

Nick saban is worth it. The first time we tried to get jimbo it was for 5-years $30m.

Yep. Jindal really fricked the school and the irony is that he created the fricking budget crisis to begin with! Then he decided he wanted to run for President and left the State to deal with this shite. I really can't stand Jindal.

I'm glad he didn't come here. Although he would obviously be better than O

A lot of coaches can be successful at LSU with the resources and advantages we have. Jimbo definitely could have been. I think Coach O CAN BE.

No thanks, if coach O can’t get to playoffs next yr, let’s get a legit coach, bc dumbo ain’t it

You won’t find many states where politics and sports collide in such a fashion that the sitting governor and budgetary woes help save the flagship university’s football coach, with the final decision made in the middle of a game. But that’s what happened in Louisiana: Les Miles was to be fired, and then he wasn’t. “That boat had already left the dock,” a high-ranking school official says. LSU’s top target in replacing Miles was so obvious that players were preparing for his arrival. “I remember reading an article about Jimbo [Fisher] already agreeing to terms and it was a done deal. I couldn’t focus on A&M,” says Brandon Harris, the starting quarterback on that 2015 LSU team. Says Clapp, “We were talking about our new head coach and how we fit into Jimbo’s system.”
