White mother's on Facebook fricking crave any attention they can get. Any issue they can post about to get support is going to be posted.

Jesus woman. Delete the Facebook app and put down your phone, you crazy bitch.

My bet is that is an old pic and Riley put on some lbs since then.

Checked out mom's FB and that picture looks similar to current ones. Mom may be a drama queen but the kid seems like she's a healthy weight.

If a medical professional used the term "all this weight" it would indicate a significant change from a prior baseline.

Maybe Riley was 50% for height and 35 % for weight and now was 50% for height and 75% for weight.

I take height and weight at each visit on every developing child I see. There is a medical reason for following it. Diseases, medication side effects, and poor intake/exercise habits. You do your very best to catch things early. I don't take 3 mins of my time to make people feel good or bad. Its objective data.

I bet this mom would be the first one to post on social media that the medical professionals "missed a diagnosis" if they ignored her weight and she got sick.

she seemed a slight bit thinker but , not enough to warrant an "all this weight" comment.

This sounds like the nurse made a joke in poor taste that didn’t go the way she thought it would.

Also the article says it was a physicians assistant then a nurse practitioner, then a nurse. What was it?

I was expecting the kid to be fat. Was the nurse joking?

Why is the nurse asking this instead of the dr? This mom secretly thinks her daughter is fat. She feels bad because she feels this way. She makes up this story so she can prove to the world via Facebook that she doesn’t feel that way. Then dumbasses see this story and post it on message boards

well when someone says this i go to the opposite side of their argument.

There are 3 sides to every story and i bet this one is the furthest from the truth.

Why do people these days insist on airing their grievances on social media?

Yea that kid looks healthy, I understand a DR warning of obesity but that sounds like this nurse was just being a cunextuesday. F her.

Was expecting the "Can I speak to the manager" haircut. Everybody is looking for a reason to get offended and then post it on social media for attention. The nurse's comments MIGHT have embarrassed the daughter in front of her mom. The Mom's comments broadcasted her daughter's weight gain to the whole world. That is great parenting! God help us!

Did she meet the nurse at sonic afterwards?

No?

I’d be much cooler if she did.

Things about this that make me hate facebook obsessed moms. These are the types of people who think their worth is defined by likes.

quote:

Venn pulled the nurse aside to have a private discussion about what had been said.

Yet she doesn't hesitate to go on facebook and release said private conversation.....obviously for attention.

quote:

They already have to compare themselves to the ridiculous social media bullshite standards.

Again, she is on facebook ranting to strangers and looking for likes because she put that damn nurse in her place. Bitching about facebook standards, and playing into them.....wow mom. You are so brave.

quote:

“Know that some girls gain weight, some lose weight, some struggle with acne, some feel insecure but remember this- YOU ARE PERFECT just the way you are. This is just the beginning of a long, confusing, sometimes scary road to becoming a woman but it is worth it!”

If a nurse said all this while taking vitals, I would be creeped the frick out, and THAT would be the reason to not go back. Not being questioned about supposed weight gain.

Also notice the mom did not mention the girls actual weight. And what the difference was, since it was such a big fricking deal.

Ehhhh I dont know. That's getting in the everybody gets a trophy mentality. Kids needs to learn how to handle adversity. Remember it's not what happens to you, it's how you handle what happens to you.

That's what you get when clinics tried to increase their patient numbers, but not hire actual medical doctors instead using nurse practitioners with 1/10 of the training... Peds residency 3 years, nurse practitioner peds rotation 3 months.

There are a lot of RN's out there who spend more time with patients than doctors do. Outside of work in an OR, know about as much as the human anatomy, how it works, how to diagnose, and what to prescribe. So just because a Dr spends 3 years in residency doesn't totally separate them from a nurse who's worked in hospitals, clinics for the same or even longer.

I am not sure what was discussed (my ex took my daughter to her appointment) but on the last insurance bill I got for my 12 YO daughter (I will shoot anyone asking for pics) there was a charge for "obesity counselling" my daughter is not anywhere near obese.

My ex wasn't in the room apparently. I am going to discuss with my daughter tonight.

Pics or it did not happen. And we will assume the worst, that is she's a hefty one.....
