Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Arizona, is projected to defeat Republican opponent Rep. Martha McSally, according to the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.

As of Sunday, Sinema had 49.57 percent of the vote, or 1,071,280 ballots cast, the Arizona Secretary of State's office reported. McSally, meanwhile, had 48.08 percent support or 1,038,988 votes.

Jim Bognet, the McSally campaign's CEO, wrote in a Sunday statement that their side was yet to give up hope.

“Today our vote total grew at a greater rate than expected, and we expanded our vote margins in rural areas counting mail-in ballots dropped off on Election Day," he said. "The latest release provides compelling evidence that the remaining uncounted ballots are favorable to Martha. And we will continue our effort to make sure all lawful ballots are counted.”

That's #3 ....

More to come.

Yep. It sucks when they count all the votes and your side loses. How could they allow this injustice?

Ya, this isn't florida. The arizona process has been open and laws have been followed.

Sinema was leading in most polls so this was the expected outcome.

I read an article today that said that when john kyl steps down from senate in 2019, the governor will replace him with mcsally.

That would be a very ethical move, imo.

Yep. It also sucks when they count all the votes and your side loses but refuses to accept the results & then proceeds to blame Russia, or manufacture ballots for a recount, or declare the election invalid. How could they allow this injustice?

Why isn't there a runoff? If Sinema got 49.57 and McSally got 48.08, who got the remaining 2.35%?

The Green Party candidate got the rest of the votes. A runoff would likely be worse for McSally.

That sickens me to know that someone who OPENLY SUPPORTS AMERICANS JOINING THE TALIBAN is now a U.S. Senator.

Even though I know they won't do it, I hope Ft. Huachuca denies her entry.

Yeah nothing to see here Mcsally with a lead that was griwing with 75% of ballots counted. Then no more votes come in for about 18hrs, Then when the votes do come in it is at a 3-1 clip for Sinema,

The statistical probability of this is so minuscule.....

Well, the Taliban has its first senator in our government. A few years ago a Muslim was on CNN and bragging how the flag of Islam would one day fly over our capital.
This is the first step

Asshat all votes shouldn't be counted - only legal votes should count.

Arizona just inched itself closer to the top with the number of idiotic voters willing to let cheating in an election. They're not quite Florida stupid, but they are getting there.

Takes time to falsify ballots. Everyone knows it. GOP is too spineless to do anything about it.

This is true. I am at the point where I blame the GOP more than the democrats. I mean seriously, why would they stop? They see the Republicans are not going to do anything about it so they may as well continue.

Inaction has consequences and here they are

I just guess it's coincidental that every time there is a close election and votes are found late, they always are Dem votes? What are the odds?
But we already know that Dems don't care about cheating to win. The ends justify the means huh!
