He’s under contract for three more seasons after this one. Shame on us if it’s already a done deal without seeing the rest of the season play out. Next year would be the right time, assuming things go as well as they should.

To be fair, we are a top 10 team and should be favored to win out. Eleven win season might be reached. Sugar bowl is possible if things fall right. I can see JA pushing for it.

One of the first times I've ever agreed with you.
Except, I think he has three years remaining.
Not sure why you need to extend a coach during year 2 of a 5 year deal. It's not like we're some mid major who needs to lock up our coach before a bigger program comes calling. And if he can't recruit with 3 fricking years left, then maybe he isn't the right guy for the job.
The only thing I could possibly see would be renegotiating the buyout portion. I think by the end of December it's going to down around $4 million.
