I hope it works out and it’s about time somebody tried this. CNBC Link

What an absolute fricking idiot. Again.
Clearly unconstitutional. Why does this fool hate the Constitution?

It should have never been implemented at all.

Failure to clarify the 14th Amendment has been a terminal illness to our nation. There's a "birth tourism" business, FFS.

I don't think you should be eligible for citizenship until you are old enough to actually take the citizenship exam.

I don’t think it’s good for our country that a president can do this unilaterally and without debate, creates too much executive power. This should go through congress.

This is Bamarep and I approve this message.

Really doubt an executive order can do it.
Maybe a law if fashioned correctly can do it. Will hang on the "subject to the jurisdiction" phrase.
But this bit of the article

basically the US, Canada, and bunch of other countries no one would want to move to.

However, Canada and many other countries grant birthright citizenship

About time!
"REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" say the democrats.
I will be very happy to see President Trump make a change that makes headlines like this history.

Add another amendment to the constitution.
"Anyone who votes for a Democratic Presidential candidate is financially responsible for the education, healthcare, housing and utilities, and food of any person born on their property."
Watch how fast they build walls around their property

This would get laughed at in court.

This seems like a second term issue. Surprised Trump is taking it on in his first term.

There is an endless stream of pregnant women who are transported across the Rio Grande just to have their American baby who is then a citizen and immediately eligible for benefits which they grab quickly. And forever.

Why is he doing this shite before midterms?

Anybody for birthright citizenship is crazy

I think it’s funny that leftists don’t think they will end up having the same conversation if they elect an Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders.
If you make the decision as a country to have all of these social programs, eventually you can only tax so much and have to cut down on who receives benefits. Hell, our programs are already strapped.
The inherent problem isn’t citizenship necessarily but entitlements. We have to cut one or the other...

This is what SCOTUS is for, interpret original meaning of the Constitution. Next up, Natural Born Citizen.
