Not familiar with this little piece of paradise. What happened to it?

Lafayette had Carnival beach many moons ago but it was no paradise.

It got turned into a subdivision. I can't imagine parents bringing kids there knowing what was going on there as a teenager.

No it was not. It was one of the first outings for my sister and me when we moved here from Phoenix in 78. It has haunted me ever since. A huge turd floated by us while standing in the mucky water. Im sure Thunderbird Beach was no less clsssy.
