Thunderbird Beach is best left as a paradise in the mind.

There’s a FB page titled “who remembers Thunderbird beach” (or something similar to that). There were commercials. I still remember the jingle. The FB page has several old photos. If you’re the nostalgic type, it’s worth checking out.

I can attest to the fact that they absolutely did! The musical jingle from the commercials went:
"Thunderbird Beach!.....More fun in the sunshine....
Thunderbird Beach!....More swimming and rides....

Many, many 14/15 year olds got drunk for the first time at Thunderbird beach after the last day of school. Like blackout drunk. It was the thing to do back then.

Your friend is a schmuck. Thunderbird Beach most definitely had commercials.
