I can't even imagine what part of the complex this works in at this time of year.

Don’t get locked in on one color, blue and white good sometime, other times white with silver metal flake, other times monkey milk.Tore them up on yellow/white occasionally.Crappie nibbles helped a lot,let them dry out some so they stay on hook better. Some people used bobbers,I had better luck tight-lining.I like Stren yellow line, some days they wouldn’t hit where you feel it,they would take it in their mouth and swim up with it so when your line went slack, set the hook(gently).I had six jig poles with different color on each ,usually fished with two at time. Also used light spinning rod with beetle spins, tiny ratltraps good sometimes.
They’ll drive you nuts some days trying to figure out what they want.

i figured you were using it on a spider rig along with shiners. I've had some success with a road runner on the bottom and 2 shiners above it but everyone ive seen lately is using 6-8 poles at a time slow trolling.

No I don’t spider rig, I fish around the boats that do. Big group of boats spider rig fishing together usually means there are fish there. I’ll go cast around in the same area. When I cast shiners I use a carolina rig setup with small split shot as weight.

So, we are talking Larto proper? Any reports from Saline and/or the bayous?

They have pulled out 100 a day almost every day over that time period. Not sure how the lake sustains it but it does. Also not sure why anyone needs that many fish but to each their own.

This is why the bison and alligator almost went extinct. Most people are selfish and don't care about the next generation being able to enjoy what they did.

Also the thought of cleaning 100 white perch a day makes me nauseous

Dad built a fish scaler to handle wp and bream but they rarely kept more than a meal worth since it was every day. I wish I could wade the bank with him one more time and watch his string some bigguns.
Annual flood repopulates that place like it does the oxbow lakes but I get what ya mean.

I always suspected all those acres of button willows Shad Lake area acted as nursery area for the white perch.

The white perch were scarce for us. But the big ol bluegills kept the lines singing in the water. We caught four as we dropped the line over the side while putting a bream in the ice chest. Kept about 50 or so, but could have filled up a boat with them

Crappie still good with spider rigs on shinners. Slowed up some at times. Water isn’t running like it was last month. Especially in the mouth of bayous. Lets hear from some of you’ll!

I will never take my boat to Phil's ever again. The dust plus a little moisture equals a batter that $12 at the car wash did not remove.
