Well, considering they've been trying to do it since the 70's, I'd say not in my lifetime.


It does piss me off that many US cars have a mix of metric and standard bolts on them in their assembly. Pick one or the other for crying out loud and stick with it. That shite is maddening.

True, but just purchase a 10 mm socket and open/box end wrench and you’re golden.

While some sizes may cross over,late model domestic passenger vehicles are 100% metric.

If we switched to metric would everyone then immediately lose their 3/8ths sockets instead?
