They have a print out of registered voters and they turn to the page where my name and address is listed.

They then ask for my ID.

The first lady looks at it and makes sure my name and address match the voter roll. She then calls on the old lady next to her to look at the roll and my ID for double verification.

Once they agree that my ID and my voter roll info is copacetic, I then sign next to my name on the voter roll.

I am then allowed into the booth.

To vote, I have to be registered, have two people agree that my ID matches my roll entry and then provide my signature.


This is the exact procedure they use at my precinct, and from my experience so far, the poll workers do it in an efficient but fast manner.

Having the ID verification makes complete sense.
