I read an interview with Adam Reed a few weeks back and he said that Archer was still in his dream state at the end of season 9, and season 10 will have an Alien theme.
In a more recent article, he did say that he plans to return Archer to the “real world” before the show ends. But he doesn’t know if season 10 will be the final season or not.
