If he was guilty I am kind of pro-crucifiction here

what is odd is that crucifiction is a (read ETA) Roman and later Cathloic, way of execution to put you closer to the struggles of Jesus, for you to ask for forgiveness at the pearly gates of St. Peter.

Why would a religion that is vowed to kill all infidels use this?

ETA: just did some research and it cam from likely the Assyrians and Babylonians, and used in Persia in the 6 centry BC. Alexander the great brought it back to eastern Mediterranean countries. I didnt know this.

Saudi media took a decidedly dark turn on Monday when it appeared to threaten Canada with a 9/11-style attack by tweeting a harshly worded infographic with an image of an airliner flying towards Toronto's skyline

Ron Paul called that shite right after 9/11.

human rights violations in Canada

Lol what? Canada is so polite, they jail you for being rude. Which is, of course, ironic. But the point remains.

quote:

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia put a man to death on a cross in the holy city of Mecca

quote:

The crucified man...stood accused of murder

So your response to alleged human rights violations is...a human rights violation by executing someone in a cruel and unusual way before proving their guilt??

quote:

The execution came during a deepening dispute between the two countries sparked by Canadian criticism of how Saudi Arabia is treating jailed activists.

Well I freaking wonder why they would have such concerns. Hmmmm?

Yeah, so weird one would ever associate a cross with Jesus Christ. First I've heard of it, at least.

Do you think Jesus was the first or only person to be killed in that manner? Or the last?

If he's actually guilty I have no problem with the crucifixion.

With that being said, the article said he was accused and didn't say he was convicted of anything. If that's accurate than I have a huge problem with the crucifixion.

Anyway, I've always thought we need to use more torturous methods of execution. Such as crucifixion or some of the methods discussed in this article. LINK

I find lethal injection and even the electric chair to be far too nice to the criminal.

With that being said, you have to convict somebody before executing them. You can't execute somebody based on mere accusations.

The only problem to me is that he seems to have been accused of those offenses but never actually convicted in a court of law.

Yeah they are. I can't believe they've been able to pull the wool over people's eyes.

I'd be a little skeptical of a criminal conviction there considering there's no jury trial, verdicts are determined by a panel of judges, and testimony from two Muslim men. Testimony from non Muslims or Muslims from a sect they don't like can be ignored and testimony from women is not allowed at all. Also take into consideration they can arrest you and impose punishment for things such as witchcraft and heresy.
