Tuition is still pretty low.

For all those complaining about how much tuition has gone up, etc. What you really need to know is: has the per student budget increased over that same time period?

I don’t feel like looking it up but my guess is it hasn’t increased at the same rate as total tuition. What has changed is the direct state funding to LSU (not TOPS). To make up for those decreases in funding, fees have gone up because like others have said, it’s very difficult to raise tuition since the legislators control it.
