Who couldn't wait until they got this in the mail every month? For about five years in a row, a subscription was one of my birthday presents.
At one point, I would say I have about six monster boxes of cards; I'd say it had to have been around 250,000 to 300,000 cards. Around 1999, I went through them all, saved the ones that were good or I liked, and sold the rest off to some dealer. I think out of the 250,000, I held on to about 2,500 of them.
My son started collecting around 2011 or so. Not serious...just a pack here and there. Basically there is only Topps left anyway. I gave him all of my 80's and 90's cards I had left. On occasion I'll get a good player from the 50's, 60's, and 70's as long as it isn't too expensive (in other words not mint). He really likes the old ones. I reckon one day his kids will end up with them.
