it is certainly fashionable for these obscure sports media types to disrespect us this offseason.

I hope coach O and company are saving these prognostications to show to the team this season.

They’re crazy if they aren’t posting this bulletin board material all over the locker room.

All of you that are so pissed off at the “disrespect,” well I don’t want to hear one excuse this season from any of you.

He maybe right about the outcome due to the unknown at qb.

LSU has 3 4* and a 3* who has been here since June of 2015.

call me crazy, but I don't think Dari (or others) predicting LSU to finish 5th did so because of a lack of talent.

247 releases its team talent composite next month. I'll revisit this thread when thats released to see where LSU stacks up to the rest of the conference.

Whats simplistic about challenging the perception that this team isnt as talented as previous teams? Hence the 7 win prediction by Vegas and the 5th place finish in the west.

If you are counting on S-T and Defense to make you relevant on the offensive scoreboard, you most likely arent very talented on the Offensive side of the ball.

I would like to hear a complex view from you, explaining where all this NFL talent is on the offense.

QB, WR, a few 4* on the OL. no big deal.

Don't know why these guys are getting the love they are getting. Jimbo ain't gonna do shite this year ....maybe 7-5
and I would not be surprised even with a healed up Fitzgerald that Moo State screws the pooch.

Also, did not Auburn have their arses handed to them in the SEC Championship and the Bowl game against UCF?

It’s funny to me how every year the media picks A&M to beat us and/or finish ahead of us

I wonder if all the SEC media will reevaluate their decisions when Fulton is cleared to play? This is huge for our defense. We now arguably have one of the best defenses in the nation. Aranda fitna eat!

If we end up 5th O has to go.

That said, I think we surprise and have a good year starting with solid win vs Miami. End up 2nd or 3rd with good momentum to challenge Bama next year.

We were 9-4. Lost to Troy and blew a lead late against Notre Dame and we have a way better defense especially on d line. Tough schedule but 5th in the west and no talent is a little much. We have a better team but a lot tougher schedule. The team does have more talent than last year. We are much more mature too

LSU and how they always seem to be loaded with talent, and Dari stopped him and said, “But are they? Not this year. Maybe in seasons past. I think they are the fifth-best team in the West.”
I think they are confusing "star power", as in celebrity & known quantities, with talent.

Yes, we lack the stars (not recruiting stars) we've had in the past. But talent and youth = stars in the making.

Yes, we have some holes. I think CEH is a high-level SEC back, but we lack depth behind him with Curry as a freshman. We have issues at OT. DB... I'm wait and see on. QB will be a first time starter, no matter who it is. Our WRs are inexperienced for the most part, but not so much so we're plugging holes.

We had a somewhat rare combination of experienced but not highest of highest quality players last year along side what we think are young but talented players. Example: LaCouture on the DL, but Chaisson getting out of position on the edge.

The youth have a year or two behind them. They are no longer "young", just somewhat inexperienced... but with a year in a very good S&C program. That matters.

We've gone from the extremes: experienced but slightly lesser talented players on one end and Fr/rsFr/rsSo on the other to meeting in the middle somewhat.

So I think we're primed for some guys to shine and become stars and household names. A Jefferson at WR, CEH in my opinion, maybe Shelvin/Alexander. Delpit showed butt loads of promise. Combine those with the likes of Giles, White, Greedy and you have a talented team.

They just have to prove it. It's there. If the coaches do their job, that inexperience fades away and then the names "surprise" everybody.

If Jimbo finishes ahead of us in year 1, what a fricking disaster that would be.

I don't get why anyone would pick a&m to finish above LSU. They gave up 55 to freaking Wake Forest in a bowl loss, have gotten blown out by LSU under O the last two years and don't have better talent. Yes, they have Jimbo now, but Jimbo's team sucked last year and they had way more problems than just a hurt QB. When you get beat 35-3 by Boston College with FSU's talent, you have big issues. Also, aTm's schedule is a bitch.
