I’d have lost my poop literally. We were about 5 feet from it.

Stop being a hippy and wear shoes.

for true.

I run series of trails, some single track, around my house. The first system I usually run from my house is the Emory president's house grounds (Lullwater). I see several copperheads a year there and they scare the shite out of me because they don't move until it's often too late. One struck at my dog a couple years ago and BARELY missed his leg.

And re: coral snake, we were just talking about that being the only venomous snake that's in the southern US that we haven't seen in the wild. F. That.

It was storming hard this am, so I'm just getting ready to run. It's 84 with 73 dew point right now. Overcast. Temp not bad for running but that dew point is miserable. Thunderstorm about to start. Going to keep it close to home. I'm down to less than two weeks to train for that damned incline. Going to mapmyrun out some around here for today.

eta: mapped out an 8.2 miler with almost 600ft gain. here it goes. probably going to get soaked by storm, but can't tell the difference I sweat so much

this was about 10 years ago which was peak hippy for me.

That feeling of something moving under your foot is about unnerving as it gets

I stopped running barefoot when I snagged my pinky toe on a root and almost ripped it off...
