What to eat and how much is such an individual thing its hard to give advice. I suggest you do things the same way you do the day before your long training run. If you ate steak and had no issues the next day seems it should be ok to do it again. If in doubt go simple. Basic chicken, sweet potato or rice, small green salad never did me wrong. As far as carb loading day before or dayS before I got no input as I don't do it. To me nothing worse than feeling bloated. plenty of time pre race to eat quick carbs and be fueled up for a marathon especially when you can easily pop a gel every 30-45 minutes.

all this talk got me wanting to race. been struggling a little so far to start the year. Came down with the rona right at new year's. nothing really bad but still got lingering headache and heart rate been all over the place on the few runs I've done. oh the 20 degree weather here hasn't helped.

good luck and get it done!
lace'em up and let it rip!

Feeling better. Put in 4 miles today and didn't die. Ran a few strides at GMP and was OK. Still waiting on PCR test but as of right now I'm still going to give it a go.

Well I got it, PCR test confirmed yesterday evening. Pretty bummed overall. I can definitely feel a difference whether I wanted to admit it or not. Going to keep it easy for the next week or so and see if I can rally for the Woodlands in early March.

Good luck to all y’all baws running houston and Louisiana, pussed out on the half this year.

Nothing like training in heat and humidity all winter than race day is 30s and windy.

I ain't mad about the low temperatures. I think that'll help to keep my HR down.

if the wind dies off sunday morning, i expect some PRs this weekend. Almost perfect race weather.

going to be sweet for the Houston full people running thru the new Memorial park tunnels.

I run along the coast, so 9+ mph winds are fairly common.

The wind appears to be out of the NW (according to accuweather). We should be running into the teeth of it for miles 1 - 2, 3 - 4, and 10-18 (whoa).

My buddy is bringing some with us. I plan to eat a gel and pee at mile 7 and then eat a gel every 4-5 miles after that (unless I feel like I need more).

Idk how it will be this year but when ive run the half in years past people all along the course are handing you gels and oranges.

Obviously don’t bank on it but it’s nice.

2020 My phone said I had a mile left so I took an art car from some guy on Allen parkway. I was dying when I realized I had another 2 to go.
