chipped beef, cream gravy open face over toast, that he brought back from WW2, which was served often on his ship

Hell yeah, my mom made this. You reminded me of it. I'm gonna cook the shite out of this this weekend. A nice white gravy over white toast. Great easy meal



My dad was always a TV dinner, pizza delivery, etc. style. I honestly can't remember much he made. Maybe like bacon wrapped doves, he'd do some wild game stuff on occasion.

One of my Grandad's favorites from his WWII days as well. The sailors on the USS Dixie called it "shite on a Shingle".
