Houston where we swang and bang in our trunks.

I only know one person who "loathes" LSU, and he doesn't even live in Lafayette.
I wish that was true for me. Just because that’s your experience doesn’t mean it’s like that 100%. There’s a lot of people who make sure no matter where pro-LSU things are in town, that there’s also pro Ull outweighing it. The news barely covers LSU. You just don’t pay attention. It’s definitely a thing.

Rural Mississippi delta along one of the developed oxbows is a pretty nice scene. It's kind of like a small Northshore.

Old Mandeville close to the lake.

I lived in Dallas for 2 yrs and Natchez for 3 yrs.
I'll take my home town in 70808-10 over that large city and small town respectively.

If I moved back to LA, I'd pick a house within 10 minutes from J. Alexanders and Cadillac Cafe in the BR.
The traffic and schools suck but being single, the 40-something divorcees are all I care about. Like fish in a barrel especially if you aren't too picky. Plus it's safer that picking up a pro who is just out to steal your wallet and your ugly A. Piguet replica watch.
I wish I could find a place like JA or CC out here in Kissimmee. Almost makes me want to move back to BR. But central FL is much nicer and the pay is better. You just have to deal with the online dating BS.

How is this relevant? For the life of me I don’t get how some people can’t come to grips with others being content. The guy says he loves it in BR, he probably loves the familiarity and there is nothing wrong with that.
People have different priorities, and if friends/family are at the top then relocating doesn’t make much sense regardless of how many nature trails or shopping malls are in the immediate vicinity.

Spot on. People love to put others down based on where they live or if they’re happy in a certain place.

Dude, central Florida is the a-hole of the universe. Like the Riveria sans beaches. I'll admit there are some decent spots in Lakeland, and obviously Winter Park is one of the best kept secrets in the country, but otherwise...hot, humid, poverty.
East Coast: West Palm to St. Aug
West Coast: ~Venice to ~Lutz
Anything North, South, or inland is a hard pass.

It's such a subjective question man. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. All depends on what you like/want from a place.
I've lived in Baton Rouge, Natchitoches, Lake Charles, New Orleans, and Covington. All of those towns have qualities I like, and I do not hate any of them. However, in my opinion the Northshore has been the best overall.

I don’t see BR. Aren’t you normally high on Baton Rouge or have you given up on it?

I just say BR’s not as bad as the OT makes it out to be, that it is in no way the same town it was 15 years ago, and that it’s food scene is sneaky good relative to its reputation. I don’t pretend it’s some incredible place (especially post Alton Sterling/Great Flood/JBE&Broome election), just not the hellscape the OT likes to pretend it is.
