I’ve watched the last Jedi a couple times in the last month. It is better rewatching it because the absolutely stupid parts of the movie are not shocking anymore. I like the parallels drawn to the old movies except having the opposite outcomes at every turn.
It’s still not good. It seems every time I watch floating in space Leia she is even further out from the ship than I thought previously. Luke’s whole storyline is crap. The pushing of the female leadership down our throats is even more obvious. Even my wife, who is a realistic feminist, thought this was absurd.
What’s silly is the framework was there for a cool movie in my opinion. It’s all the little details that they seemingly swung and missed hard on in between that makes the movie so dumb.

But the rebellion/resistance has always had female leadership. This was nothing new.
Hell, A New Hope is a bigger feminist movie than TLJ was. By far.
