Yep. Hell, I would drive a Lexus RC or Infinity Q60 before a Corvette.

A Q60. A squatty wannabe station wagon over a Vette.

Do I have this correct?

That's fine. The Corvette makes no claims to be any type of refined luxury car. It's a track monster.

Which car gets you better performance for 120k than a C7Z06?

2017 Dodge Viper ACR
Audi R8 V10

He's trying to justify buying a japanese luxury car.

Because when I think Japanese I think luxury.

I dont see how anyone would pick a Corvette or any american made car over a mercedes benz or BMW. I usually see people with new money buying them.

I see people with no money driving Mercedes and BMWs. Corvette isn't my favorite sports car but I would definitely drive one.

They depriciate like a boulder. So yes.

The ACR might be going up now.

The Lambo and the R8 are the same car.

You’re comparing luxury coupes to what is essentially a race car.

The new Corvette ZR1 has a top speed of 214 mph and has 755 hp. Totally different class of vehicle.

I agree you with there. I honestly just think spending more than 25-30k on a car is a complete waste of money unless you have so much that you dont know what to do with it. So many people financially frick themselves with car notes and cars they dont need.

You can buy a year old Benz or BMW in that range.

The quality/design/engineering is well worth it.

No, I’m quite comfortable in my decision to drive an Infinity, and a Lexus before that - both of which are/were sedans. If I choose to step up to a sportier car, it’s going to be either in the German offerings or even in the Japanese brands. No way would I spend money on a Vette. Even if I won a car as a prize and had to choose between a Benz, BMW, Lexus, Infinity or corvette, the vette would be last.

Benz, BMW, Vette then the rest. Assuming they are all in the same class.

Japanese cars just age terribly.

Just curious, have you ever driven a corvette or is this just a wet diaper post?

My buddy has a C6 Grand sport that he uses as a track car and a weekend driver. There’s absolutely not better options in that price range that provide the power and ability of a corvette.

Forgetting the latter nonsense - Not since my dad briefly had a 1982 vette and I could drive, which was 1985/1986. I hated it, it was an automatic. I preferred his 280 ZX Manual trans and later the 300 ZX which was an auto too.
