The correct answer has been posted multiple times. Title IX dictates that for every male sport scholarship there has to be a female sport scholarship and with 85 allocated to football, there has to be amends and cuts in other male sports to compensate. Hence why the creation of more female college sport teams after the ratification of Title IX

You used to be able to sign a guy for books but starting about 10 years ago if you are going to have a kid on a baseball scholarship it’s needs to be at least 25%. It’s something else watching coaches try to figure out that part of it. Fans would be surprised who gets how much. Lot of guys get academic money or some other sort of aid. Plus baseball recruiting is so difficult because it’s hard to separate the 5 o’clock hitters from the guys who can really do it. My senior year at ULL when we went 45-17 and finished 2nd at A&M regional we had 5 walk ons in the starting lineup and had some big scholarship guys stay not even on the travel roster
