I sort of went through this (not the paternity mind frick) but my biological father was a real POS. A thief, a junkie, and a compulsive liar. Once I was out of child support years he tried to establish a connection and I ended up giving in. I'm not going to go into all the details because this post would be 5000 words but it was a mistake. He finally OD'd last year. I told myself I should feel something but in the end I just didn't care.

As far as what would I do? I wouldn't get involved with other peoples internal family issues. Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn't.
