The same reason they love their (non-biological) father is the same reason they should let that selfish old bitch die alone as a stranger. Sure blood matters to an extent but from what it sounds that woman is hardly their mother. The woman wanted to lead a self-centered life without her kids, part of that trade off is she gets to die without them there too.
